“Psst! Looks like you already saved this!” Have you received this message on Pinterest? Because I have about a dozen times lately. What am I pinning to death? Every single look from….Gucci.
I love the direction of the brand since creative director Alessandro Michele took over. His looks have that “Yes! That’s it” quality,” as in someone is finally putting it out there. Some of us have long been mixing prints with abandon, layering to bring in different elements and choosing colors like ice cream flavors.
This dreamboat of a printed coat is from Gucci. I saw it online at Neiman Marcus and kept my eye on it until it was on deep sale. I love a printed coat like some girls like diamond earrings. They are my jam.
I paired it with this Frame Denim blouse, which I also found on sale at Neiman Marcus and had to have because, hello, bright pink, white and wine colored stripes are so awesome together.
I slipped on this teal Rebecca Taylor faux leather skirt that was on sale for $60 at Neiman Marcus the day after Christmas between 8 a.m. and noon. I know I’m a broken record about his doorbuster sale and I hope you are beginning to understand why.
I decided to throw on my new Chanel boots, which I also found on sale at Neiman Marcus because that’s what popped into my head. So I went with it.
I think it’s important to go with things, use your instinct, and dress like you. It’s about what makes you feel good. And that’s why my new designer crush is so cool.
I have linked to a bunch of items I’m stalking (I’m even reconsidering the mule, a shoe I usually don’t care for so much, but those red and green ones, whoa), plus some tie-neck blouses and faux leather skirts on major sale. I hope these items will inspire a look or two. The best part of dressing this way is that you’ll always find something in your own closet, too.
