Farm Fresh

One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to visit the farmers markets. (It just so happens to be National Farmers Market Week, yay!) You’ll find one somewhere in the city pretty much every day of the week. I’m at the Green City Market in Lincoln Park here, wearing one of my best-loved summer dresses.

I’m wearing a denim See by Chloe dress that I bought on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue a few summers ago. I wear it constantly in the summer. It’s lightweight and I love the ruffled sleeves. For my trip to the market, I decided to wear it with these Mary Katrantzou for Adidas sneakers. I’m a big fan of her prints and this was an affordable way to finally add one to my closet. I grabbed my large Valentino tote to stash some flowers in. I always pick up flowers at the market and we shot this a couple of weeks ago when the last of the peonies (my favorite) were available.

In addition to flowers and loads of fresh produce, I always pick up this green drink from Earth and Skye farm. It has kale, bee pollen, local honey and apple cider vinegar. Delicious.

The Green City Market is held in Lincoln Park every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer. It’s probably one of the biggest markets in the city, with loads of fresh produce stands, chef demos and locals eats (think: crepes and wood-fired pizzas). The market in front of Daley Plaza every Thursday is also quite large. And I love the one on the steps of the Museum of Contemporary Art on Tuesday mornings (bonus: entry into the museum is free for Illinois residents on Tuesday).

Hope you’re all enjoying the bounty of summer.
