When you buy everything on sale, you wear the same pieces again and again, styled in different ways. That’s the fun. I wore this 3.1 Phillip Lim dress here, on a much colder day, with a jean jacket and coat, Stan Smith sneakers and a black clutch. It was one of those days when the sky is rigidly gray and the goal was to stay cozy but still point to spring. This gloriously sunny day was much different.

Here, I decided to dress it up with these sky-high Valentino heels. I like how the feminine shoe complements the loose A-line silhouette of the dress and picks up the threads of pink in the softly colorful pattern. This shoe is so happy; it simply begs to be worn on such a picture-perfect day.

I told you they were sky-high! Not exactly conducive to walking around a garden.

These Celine glasses are my new pair for summer. I had been pining after them for two years and finally pulled the trigger. I found the dress on sale last spring at Saks Fifth Avenue—that big spring sale is coming again very, very soon. Stay tuned.

Here’s to dressing for a new season. Can’t wait to see what summer brings.
