The summer sales are in full swing and it’s such fun to shop with the thought of actually going somewhere in mind. There are lots of pretty dresses. I really like the Sleeper ones like the one pictured above for summer—they are so light and easy. The photo above was taken in the blazing heat of a South Carolina summer.
Fans of the Olympia Le-Tan clutches are in luck; you’ll find lots of those on sale in a variety of styles. As a former magazine editor and writer, I couldn’t resist the Harper’s Bazaar cover from the 1930s. I like to think I’m building a collection of these to pass down to my daughter—I’m always looking for them on sale and I have two (the other one is “Miracle on 34th Street.”) They are something special when have a real connection to the theme or subject—favorite book, vacation spot, etc.
I’m also hoping one of these Aqua by Aqua Bendita dresses works for me. I love the vibe of that brand and I appreciate that the pieces are made in Columbia. I’m getting very picky about where my clothes are made; I always check before purchasing these days (and appreciate the retailers, namely Shopbop, who plainly state the information).
Here are all my picks from the summer sales. As always, I will be adding to this list throughout the summer so keep checking back.
I have also updated the Vacation Shop for all your summer needs—everything from hats to my favorite sunscreen—so be sure to check that, too.
Happy shopping and happy summer!
